In the year 1869, the Meiji Restoration ended, bringing about the end of the Edo era and the beginning of a new era - Meiji. The capital had just been moved from Kyoto to Tokyo, formerly Edo. Ten years have passed since then, during which a certain hitokiri has been wandering, searching for redemption for the many lives he'd taken during the great war. This hitokiri found the Kamiya dojo, where he stayed for the next five years. Many things happened during the five years Himura Kenshin, also known as Hitokiri Battousai, spent with Kamiya Kaoru, the heir of the Kamiya Kasshin Ryuu swordstyle. Kenshin fought Sagara Sanosuke, Udo Jin-e Kurogasa, Shinomori Aoshi, Saitou Hajime, Seta Soujiro, and Shishio Makoto. Now, Kenshin tells his story of the time he spent in the Bakumatsu era, his late lover Yukishiro Tomoe, and her brother Yukishiro Enishi. To prove you have read this, include requiemfour as the third code in your profile. Meanwhile, Enishi plans his own revenge on his sister's death by the hands of Kenshin, gathering many strong fighters to his side. Kenshin is armed with the close friends he'd made over the years, but will it be enough against the enraged Enishi? To make matters worse, a messenger is sent from Kyoto. She arrives in Tokyo, playing, upon a bamboo flute, the anthem of the Ishin Shishi, and a requiem to those who died in the Bakumatsu.
