Name: Myojin Yahiko
Age: 10
Gender: Male
Oraganization: Kenshin-gumi
Appearance:
Personality: Yahiko has a strong will to win, and become stronger. He can be bratty at times, and is easily irritated. He is often full of energy and it shows.
History: Yahiko's father was a samurai, who was killed in a war. His mother eventually had to sell her body to keep him alive, but died herself. Yahiko was dragged into the Yakuza and was forced to steal for them. He met Kenshin while trying pickpocket him, but was caught by Kaoru. He then returned Kenshin's money and ran off. Later, he denounced his life as a thief to the Yakuza, but was beaten for it. Before he was killed however, Kenshin came in and defeated the Yakuza in the room, rescuing Yahiko. Shortly after, Yahiko joined the Kamiya Dojo.
The first test of Yahiko's skills came when a young girl from the Akabeko named Tsubame was being forced to commit a robbery. Yahiko, however, during the robbery intercepted them and (unaware of the fact that Sano and Kenshin were glaring at them from out of Yahiko's sight) scared all but the leader away. Yahiko fought the leader in a one on one duel, and finally shattered his sword, defeating him.
Not long after, Yahiko was challenged to a duel by the 'apprentice' of the swordsman Raijuta. Of course, Yahiko won outright with complete ease. Yutaro also joined the dojo for a time, but was later injured critically by Raijuta and had to leave Japan with his father, seeking a medicine that might be able to heal him. Yahiko's farewell came in the form of a shinai aimed at Yutaro's head.
During the Shishio arc, Yahiko tried to get Kaoru back on her feet after Kenshin left, with little success. However, with some help from Megumi, they managed to get Kaoru onto a ship on route to Kyoto. Not long after they reached Kyoto, Yahiko noticed Shinomori Aoshi, head of the Oniwabanshu in the streets, and made a mental note to warn Kenshin. He was forced to work in the Shirobeko (must to his dismay) and there he met Makimachi Misao. Through her, he and Kaoru learned of Kenshin's location and were taken to him, where he was to learn from his master, Hiko Seijuro.
Afterwards, Yahiko confronted Shinomori Aoshi in front of the Aoi-Ya, following Aoshi's victory over Okina. Aoshi departed without many words after a brief speech from Yahiko and Kaoru.
During the attack on Aoi-Ya, Yahiko faced off against 'Flighted' Henya, and in an intense battle, finally won by using an imitation of the Ryutsuisen; Kenshin's Hiten technique. However, he sustained wounds that caused him to pass out right after the battle. He recovered enough afterwards however, to yell his loyalty to Kenshin against the giant Fuji, who was defeated by Hiko Seijuro. Finally, after the Shishio arc, Yahiko returned with his friends to Tokyo. (I'm not sure if he'd have learned the Kamiya secret by now or not)
